11 fake DB men held in Dhaka

DHAKA: Police arrested eleven fake members of Detective Branch (DB) of police from Sabujbagh area of Dhaka on Sunday night (February 12).
The detainees were identified as Yusuf Qazi, Akash Rahman Mintu, Afshar Ali, Farukh Hussain, Abdul Malek Mia, Masud Pervez, Shahin Qazi, Liton Shekh, Masum Gazi and Ashlam Shekh.
DB Joint Commissioner Abdul Baten confirmed about the matter to Banglanews through a briefing at DMP media centre on Sunday noon (February 12).
He also said acting on a tip-off that a group of robbers in disguise of fake DB were taking preparation in Sabujbagh area, a team of detectives conducted a raid and arrested them around 1:00am.
He further said police also seized 3 vehicles, 3 foreign-made pistols, two pipe guns with three magazines, five DB jackets, a wireless set, five handcuffs and five-round of bullets and knives from their possession.
Two cases were file with Sabujbagh Police Station in this connection, he added.
